Run For The Ridge Update:
Unfortunately, AHA will NOT be sponsoring my ride this year. I tried everything in my power to get the recognition, but alas, politics have gained the upper hand this time. I hope you'll bring your horses regardless of not being able to get any sweepstakes points or distance mileage with AHA. Sorry about that!!
Also, we've had LOTS of rain. The positive point of view is that the gravel roads provide marvelous soft footing with traction. We don't have really rough gravel around here, but be aware that we'll have more road riding than usual. The Minnesota River is almost over its banks, and we won't be able to use the snowmobile trails on the river bottom land this year. We have worked hard to find scenic roads to use, and we will still be going through some of the trails above the river valley. Don't stay away because of the changes...I think you'll enjoy the scenery anyway.
Here's to a full moon(well, almost) and clear weather!
Sarah Maass. Name: Erica Burman Date: 3/1/10 Email: weng0026@umn.edu Comments: I am excited to join MnDRA this year! I spent last year reading all the new rider manuals and working with my horse, so I am looking forward to attending my first ride. I own a farm called Dedicated Equestrian Boarding (D.E.B. Farms). We will have 4 openings for board as of May 1st. We are located in Oak Grove, MN. It would be fun to have some fellow distance riders at our barn to train with :). Please contact me via email if interested or check out our post on the Minnesota Horse Council's Horseman's Directory (www.mnhorsecouncil.org).
