Are you considering distance riding or driving but aren’t sure? This is the clinic to learn all about the sport. Whether you are have never done a ride and want to learn the basics or you’re ready to step up into longer distances, we have information for all experiences.
COST Register by April 9th: $10/session or $20/all day. Register at the door: $15/$25.
AM Session: Introduction to Distance Riding 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
· What is distance riding (Novice/Intro, Competitive, LD, Endurance)
· Getting started; Conditioning for your first ride.
· What to expect at ride camp.
· What are P&R’s and why are they important?
· Vet checks—what to expect.
Lunch 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM
Breakout mini-sessions (30 minutes each) 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
PM Session: Advanced Distance Riding - 50 Miles & More 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Breakout sessions, lunch, and beverages, along with a chance to win door prizes, are included in your registration fee.
Note: The arena is unheated. Please dress appropriately. Although some seating is provided, it is recommended that you bring a folding chair and if it's chilly, bring a lap blanket.

Bring your horse! This will mimic a real ride!
Reservations with pre-payment are required.
You must have attend a current or prior distance riding clinic to participate.
Experience the excitement and joy of distance riding. Riders of all ages and horses of all breeds are welcome. GET READY for a summer full of adventures ! Supported by MnDRA, UMECRA & AERC.
Camping at the Riverbend Group Camp will be open at 5pm on Friday, May 10th, with the rides scheduled for Saturday, May 11th. People can stay through Sunday, May 12th (Mother’s Day) but there are no events planned on Sunday.
Helmets are strongly encouraged for all riders but helmets are required for Junior riders (17& under). Juniors must ride with a sponsor.
Intro ride (based on AERC Intro rules) – starts at 10am on Saturday
Novice rides (based on UMECRA Competitive rules) will start at 10:30am.
Completion awards to all riders who successfully finish the ride.
Potluck on Saturday night! Dishes and flatware will be provided. Bring your own beverage and a dish to share.
Camping is $15/night. No hook-ups – open camping sites. Limited high ties, pens allowed.
